Today I am announcing something new and exciting. It’s been in development for a few months now and I’m excited to share it with you. It’s called The Monochrome Collection and I’d like to tell you a bit more about it. When I started out in wedding photography back in 2008 I was drawn in by two things. Stories, and black and white images. Whether dramatic or everyday, the stories that unfold during any given wedding are never less than utterly compelling.
As for black and white photography, that’s been a life-long love affair. It’s hard to put my finger on exactly why I find it so irresistible, but there’s a strange blend of honesty and romance in black and white photography and I think that plays a part. Black and white has always been an important part of my own output.
Although my style has remained rooted in a documentary approach, over the years I’ve added more portraiture, group photography and detail shots to my work. This has partly been because many people want these things, but also because over the years I’ve undoubtedly enjoyed producing these images. However there have always been those who are after truly stripped back wedding photography and, in my heart of hearts, that’s something that I really adore too. Which leads me on to this new offering. The Monochrome Collection addresses this need. So, what is it?
The Monochrome Collection:
- Pure documentary wedding photography
- Entirely black and white
- All day coverage (Typically 9am through until Midnight)
- No portraits, no groups, no details

The Monochrome Collection is about getting back to the very essence of a wedding. The interactions between you, the conversations with your family and friends, the unexpected and the unseen, the joy and the laughter; a seemingly trivial chinwag with grandma given equal billing alongside the momentous occasions of the day. It’s about getting rid of artifice and the pursuit of idealised perfection and instead telling real wedding stories in an honest and thoughtful way.

- Friday, Saturday and Sunday weddings before 1st April 2020
- Monday-Thursday weddings on any future date
