Louise & Josh - The Waterside Inn, Bray
Most clients who book me are interested in full-day narrative coverage. For the most part I wouldn’t change that as I love the documentary reward that’s found in holistic start-to-finish wedding photography. However, every now and then it’s absolutely lovely to do something entirely different. This wedding was one such occasion. Louise & Josh were married in a simple, unfussy and very intimate wedding at The Waterside Inn, Alain Roux’s incredible 3 Michelin star restaurant in Bray, and I was with them for the marriage itself and a short following reception.
The ceremony took place at River Cottage, which is next door to the restaurant itself, with the couples closest family and friends in attendance. Louise had told me she ‘wasn’t a very bridey bride’ (which is usually code for “I don’t want too much fuss!”) and with less than 15 guests total the day had an extremely relaxed and familial feel. No artifice, just simple elegance and meaningful relationships. After the ceremony, reception drinks were served next to the Thames, on a private terrace, in glorious April sunshine. The wedding party then boarded the Fringilla boat for a roundtrip cruise before returning to The Waterside Inn for what I can only imagine was a thoroughly sumptuous wedding breakfast. What a lovely way to get married! My thanks to Louise & Josh for being incredibly laid back and lovely and to everyone at The Waterside Inn for their hospitality and professionalism.
