Farbridge Wedding - Katy & David
I’ve recently completed some wedding albums of Katy & David’s glorious Farbridge wedding last August so I thought it was about time I shared this peach of a day with you. This was my first Farbridge wedding but I very much hope it won’t be my last. We had a day of stupendous weather, magnificent evening light and exceedingly well dressed people. Also… no COVID, so that’s worth celebrating! In lieu of summer weddings, let’s daydream about wonderful ones from the past. For those who have had to postpone their weddings I send sympathies and best wishes. Have faith; they will happen and they will be superb. We’ll get there!
Katy and David are really rather different but they complement each other perfectly. Katy is bold, direct – the life and soul of the party in the best way. Her bridesmaids’ wonderful and hilarious speeches were perfect testament to this. On the other hand, David is a quiet chap who very much shuns the limelight. Yet his beaming smile tells the story of a lovely and deeply genuine guy and his dance floor moves spoke of an inner party animal! Together they are ace.
Nice Threads
They scrub up rather well too. Katy wore the stunning Stevie dress from Made With Love which suited her down to the ground. Romance meets drama was the order of the day. David wore a bespoke dark grey herringbone suit from Tom Fox Tailoring featuring a subtle pink and blue pinstripe. I went to Tom Fox for my own wedding so it was very cool to photograph another groom wearing one of these brilliant suits and nerd-out about meltons and lapels!
Fabulous Farbridge
Despite being my first Farbridge wedding I was excited to shoot here following my venue recce a few weeks prior. The central barn, which hosts the bar and the wedding breakfast is beautiful and a beamed ceremony room runs off this, perpendicular to the main space. On the far side of a beautifully kept private garden is the bridal suite which includes its own getting ready room. A three-sided courtyard is formed by the ceremony room, the main barn, and a series of guest rooms in a third converted building. The fourth side is open to glorious surrounding farmland which slopes up to an old dairy.
Floral Fantasia
Katy & David did a fine job of putting their own stamp on an already exceptionally charming setting. They used deep green and golds throughout plus resplendent proteas and cafe au lait dahlias courtesy of Angel Like Flowers. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen big flowers used so effectively or wedding breakfast tables look quite this good.
It was great to see Jethro Meyer, The Wedding DJ again. A lot of wedding DJs sadly still remind me of this guy from Love Actually but Jethro, who is effortlessly cool, is thankfully at the other end of the spectrum. He’s a lovely bloke and reads the dance floor brilliantly. Inevitably it ends up full of people!
Anyway, enough waffle from me. Let us have some photographs!
