Dorney Court Wedding – Amy & Luke

Amy and Luke got married at the wonderful Dorney Court on a sunny day in September. Dorney was a new venue for me and I love exploring a new venue. I was utterly charmed by this beautiful Tudor Manor, including the Coach House where the ceremony itself took place and the gorgeous courtyard alongside.

Amy got ready at Dorney Cottage, which is, at a push, a full one minute drive away. Super convenient! Luke was at Gale Cottage, even closer, directly on the venue grounds. Amy wore a Suzanne Neville dress that looked amazing and fitted her meticulously. Getting in and laced correctly took a few more minutes than usual and the moments around this, with Amy’s Mum and all of her girls helping, are some of my favourites from the day. It’s always worth budgeting a decent period of time for getting into your dress. It sometimes takes five minutes, but it often takes longer and there’s nothing worse than anxious flapping when you should be soaking in the moment. I recommend to all of my couples that the dress goes on one hour prior to the ceremony, plus any travel time. As one of the most organised bride’s I’ve ever worked with Amy had built in plenty of time. What could have been a slightly stressful moment was anything but and resulted in a glut of great images.

The weather looked a bit touch-and-go in the morning so the ceremony took place in the Coach House before we emerged into blazing autumnal sunshine for confetti and drinks on the lawn.

The day was, above all, relaxed, which is exactly what Amy and Luke were after. It allowed me the time and space to catch loads of lovely incidental moments and document the day exactly as it happened, no staging, and minimal direction.

My big find was the fantastic pizza from Happizzaly Ever After – a huge thank you to Gregory for keeping me fed throughout the night – this guy makes some truly outstanding pies.

Amy & Luke, thanks for having me and being amazing clients, I loved every moment.

Katy & Matt’s Chawton House Library wedding was one of the highlights of my career thus far. Their total faith in me and complete subscription to a documentary approach was a real joy. This was my first Trading Boundaries wedding and I loved every minute of it. A relaxed venue for a relaxed couple – a perfect fit for undirected documentary wedding photography. Preston Court Wedding – Abi & Dave

Abi & Dave’s Preston Court wedding was absolutely nuts! Ceremony on a tiny island, human jukebox, beautiful carousel, Jabba the Hutt meeting a bridesmaid, giant vintage mechanical organs and historically inaccurate reenactment of the execution of Mary Queen of Scots by Elizabeth I – I’ll explain later – this wedding had a lot going on! Abi & Dave…
