Wasing Park Wedding – Louise & Adam
We continue the Great Blog Catchup™ with Louise & Adam’s Wasing Park Wedding. This was my first Wasing Park Wedding and it was an absolute treat. Louise & Adam’s wedding was, in many ways, deeply atypical. They’re both wonderfully irreverent people and, in true reflection of this, despite everything being perfect, they didn’t once take things too seriously. Also, if you looked carefully, their wedding included all manner of unusual off-beat touches which mirrored their personalities. From wedding wellies to the Edgar Allan Poe themed typewriter guestbook to Louise’s awesome red Converse shoes and Krispy Kreme tower (drool), the whole thing was an extremely well done blend of taste and character.
Louise has the most gorgeous golden hair and reds played a big part in the aesthetic of the day. It was like a better version of Game of Thrones’ Red Wedding. More happiness, equally cinematic, significantly less death.
As normal I covered the entire day, from Louise’s bridal prep in the morning through until lights-up at the end of the night. I find that this sort of comprehensive approach leads to the best photographic narrative. Adam and Louise were great fun to work with, chilled and 100% game for a laugh. After starting with the hairdresser at home, Louise finished getting ready at Wasing Park. I particularly love the images from Louise getting into her dress with her Mum & bridesmaids all around. The Bridal Suite at Wasing Park is huge and includes the biggest bed I’ve ever seen. It made for extremely rich pickings during this short section of the day. Not to mention the dress. Which, as you’ll see, was amaze.
The day was cold and crisp and we were blessed with some truly handsome skies. The ceremony took place in The Garden Room at Wasing Park with the wedding breakfast and dancing in The Castle Barn. The speeches were memorable, Louise’s dad comparing her upbringing to motor vehicle ownership was truly unique and bloody hilarious! Adam blended his natural irony with honest heartfelt words – spot on. The dancefloor in the evening was pretty impressive as well. Louise’s dress was made for twirling, and in the shape of family friends with serious dancing heritage (think Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom), and a young dude who in years to come will be breaking hearts for fun, she had admirable backup.
All in all it was a blast and a brilliant way to close out the year. My thanks to Adam & Louise for having me, it was an absolute pleasure. I can’t wait to get back for another Wasing Park Wedding, hopefully, in the near future.
